Alright. we've got ahold of a dedicated server, the files, php, mysql, and such seem to be set up. the last thing (it appears) is to properly transfer over the domain name and an "up to date" copy of the actual database contents.
This is likely to happen within the next 24 to 48 hours. We hope this transfer can go smoothly, with no loss of data or the like.
DURING THIS PROCESS THE GAME WILL BE FROZEN/OFFLINE.
When taken down, we hope to have it back up in a relatively short period of time, but of course. life is a crazy thing some times so i make no promises other then we will be working on it as fast as we can.
After this server move, terminals should be introduced shortly, a few bugs patched, and an update to view_routes.
Air Elbonia/StephenM and the rest of the Admin team thank you for your patience when this process begins.

Multiple games = big update to several key tables to be done properly. As soon as next age starts, we'll be using the old server as a test server and get cracking on it as quick as we can.
Once we have a working model, that seems relatively bug free we'll take the site down, do the necessary updates, and launch parallel games.
We can do a simple multi-world scheme, which is terrible to maintain for long-term reasons, if need be.
Dedicated server = faster site overall, no cpu exceeded things, and likely a few features that were a little hoggy before, but were pretty well optimized.

I really think multiple games will be a huge help to the game, since the majority of the problems seem to be a result of overcrowding. Glad to hear you guys are working on it, and that it'll be done right!

At this point we are litterally waiting for stephen, as he appears to be the only person at the moment who can point the domain at the proper server.
At that point, we'll turn on the hrly script and open login. everything else seems to be together and ready at this point. I've spent the last hour tinkering with terminal stuff, pretty close to just needing to finish up the build terminal page (almost all the peripherals are done).

Sorry guys, the domain seems to still not be transferred over to the new server. We're working on it as fast as we can though.
In the mean time, i've managed to finish up terminals. I'll see if i can come up with a decent wiki with all the juicy details.

Dont count on new features, its only a server move. Expect new items after the reset.

Until the registrar makes the changes to their database, the internet servers will not be updated. So far the registrar has not made any changes to it's database for the "airlinemogul.com" domain.
When I do it, it does not take more than 24 hours (yes, I own an ISP and hosting company.)

OK then.
Finished up page preferences for view_routes (say huzzah. its now easier to load, and view just what you want).
Opened up gate search (huzzah! convenience and usefulness... wait. i might need to update that still for terminals).
Enabled terminals! (huzzah! huzzah! huzzah!) (See the appropriate discussion on "Built Gates" in general chat for rules)
Word to the Wise:
1. backend has a different set up when setting up crons, it may not be set up properly, we'll find out in 52 minutes or so.
2. Wiki is likely down, last i saw. I need stephen's help in figuring out where its screwed up and in getting it back to working properly.
3. Enjoy yourselves, as soon as the DNS is transferred over (you can tell by the different news items), however, please stop using the ip address to access the site.

looks good I like it, even though that there´s no total profit on the "view routes" page, but I guess that I´ll have to get use to see the DOP on the site header instead

i dont see why you would build a terminal now, i mean all it does is let more competition into the airport.
sure you get to expand but you have to wonder if the cost benefit of keeping the competition out is worth
more than the new routes

It does let a little competition in for a big bit of expansion you can make, especially if you're stuck in a corner by no gates being available for rent.
it trumps (i hope) the AE system, where when you build a terminal, it must be as large as all rented gates AND all rented gates are immediately returned to the open market.
in the future (next age), there will be a cap on how many gates you can rent at an airport, so expansion beyond a certain point will require terminal construction.
edit: Fixed the edit route bug. sorry about that.

Your flights are assumed to be operated from your terminal gates first. Your gates in your terminals will not be returned automatically, but if you don't fill up all the slot, your current gates at the public terminal (original airport) would be tagged and return because they are not used.
Someone mentioned the price, deal with it. AEB is kind enough to have them soooo cheap. It is roughly 8 times more expensive to build a terminal in real life (at least at our benchmark, the JFK JetBlue terminal).

this is going to get ugly in a hurry, all its gonna take is 2 or 3 big airlines
building terminals at each of the major airports and no one is gonna make money anywhere.

That's the reason for build only at focus city+ rule, we'll see how it plays out, adjust as need be.
if it's too easy to build, or too easy to eat up more then your fair share, i'll know what to change for next age. whole game's always a grand experiment, in some manner or another.

Some things sound too good to be true, especially when concerning a project you've put a lot of time and effort into (as well as other resources).
and yes, if we controlled the NS's we'd have set things up a lot better to flow a lot quicker, but we didn't. the DN will be transferred as fast as the registrar (who likes dragging feet) will update it.

I'll see if i can get something more convenient set up soon.
edit: There. old address automatically redirects to the ip address of the new server. Should be good now. Hopefully the domain name will catch up soon. Just remember only www.airlinemogul.com redirects to the new server from the old one. when i'm awake, i'll likely make the old login page redirect as well if need be. but until then. ta.

And Eddie, you have some serious issues you should seek proffessional help to get to terms with. This game is free, no one is forcing you to play it, and if you are not satisfied with the work these guys do for you, then find pleasure elsewhere. It's as easy as that!

I was earning 43million from my leased aircraft now I'm earning nothing but the aircraft are still leased out.
and my Ranking has dropped from 180 to 185
Where is the money from my leased aircraft??? I have a stack of them leased out......
Please sort this out please.

Hi Alan, if you are looking at Finances there is no history of lease revenues on the new server as all the cashflow records were not moved accross. Wait until the first month change has gone through and you will get something showing up.

And besides, it's nowhere close to coming home from vacation and seeing your house destroyed. I came home from a vacation once and the entire ground floor was flooded. Trust me, your frustration doesn't come close :lol:

Bloody insurance company had 5$ value of each CD, no matter what I told them :( I lost at least 10K$! Then a weekend without AM is nothing in regard to frustration level.

Insurance companies like to depreciate everything.
I have replacement value on mine. They'll pay what it cost to replace it.

Basically your financial record has not be transferred during the server change, which is why your financial statement says 0. Your planes and leases and everything else got transferred, and thus you should be getting your money at the next month change (which has not happened thus far). The income would be recorded, creating a non-zero entry. See?
If you want to try your luck, you are welcomed to lease all my planes and 999 million a month :wink:

1. Terminal feature where players build their own gates and throw the rented gates back to the market
2. Stephen deleting accounts
3. I bankrupted some accounts
and I think the list is in the order of descending effect :wink:

The domain has finally been successfully transferred to the new host. We still, however, need to fix up the wiki on the new host, so sorry that it is down at the moment. Please resume using www.airlinemogul.com/ instead of the ip address.

Well I didn't check for several months. AMO isn't even on that domain name or on that server anymore :P And I found out the cause of its brokenness...
That chat, believe it or not, will not be factored in to AMOv2.
