Is there any way of knowing roughly what the scrap value of an aircraft will be?

It would be especially helpful when calculating how long its viable to keep the aircraft on the market. Opposed to keeping it on the market for too long and unwittingly selling it at a price lower than the scrap value or scrapping it too soon when it could have been sold for much more than scrap value.

Oh... alright. That easy... and its a given that it is always 10% of the aircraft value? That is current value, not buy new price am I right?

Where did you find this out or did you work it yourself as you were scrapping?
