General Chat / Re: Order Books
« on: December 01, 2022, 02:31:35 am »
By default, each production line gets 10 production slots per game month.
Every quarter, aircraft manufacturers evaluate forward orders and production capacity / slot utilization. This could lead to production lines being expanded for a period of time if there is demand. Based on this mechanism, the most I have seen thus far is 150 slots a month.

Regardless of how many production slots a month there is in a production line, the maximum that one single airline could occupy is 30% of the production slots available per month. That means...
10 slots = max 3 per airline
20 slots = max 6 per airline
... and so on.

For worlds with official brokers, brokerage requests count towards the airlines' own slot quota. Private leases count towards brokerage orders.

Hope this helps.

This is the age old question of how far out an airport is to no longer be considered within a metro area.

For example... "London Oxford Airport"...

Thank you for the detailed list. We do appreciate it.
The airports have been updated in the database.

My impression is that the fuel price is based on historical data. But then, it has been a few years since we last discussed this... so I could be wrong...  ^-^
Plus, that is not the exact number so not sure if it helps.

But to answer your question... there is a clear winner between the Caravelle's. The one with shorter range is best in terms of ROI.

Welcome to AM!

You do need a gate at the destination airport before you could create a route. ;)
Most worlds, including all public worlds, should have at least one starting aircraft in your fleet, so you don't need to worry about that. However, you do need to look into the performance stats of your aircraft, in particularly the distance it is able to cover, before you rent your new gate and start your route.

For all reset requests, please email us at :staff: from your registered email address. We typically respond within 24 hours.

Suggest you try starting the logo at 3000x900 then resize it down to 300x90 at 100% details when you are done. That might just do the trick. :)

The current dimension of the logo has nothing to do with it being blurry or not. It is either the resolution or the resizing method that is the issue. In fact, the larger the dimension of the logo is, given the same file size limit, the blurrier it will be.

If you use MSPaint to create a jpg file, in a larger size than the 300x90 allowed, then resize it to within the dimension limit using MSPaint, the file will be blurry. You might want to try GIMP or Photoshop instead.

If your jpg image has less than 72 dpi, it will also appear blurry.

And of course, if you are using a 4K TV as your monitor, there is not much we could do about it.  ;)

Game Strategy / Re: When to open a new hub?
« on: January 11, 2015, 03:28:46 am »
Depends on how you look at it really.

If you are looking at resources utilization, you should be opening your second hub very close to your first location-wise, at the time when all airports within the range of your first choice of regional aircraft are served. Even though you might have to save a little bit to afford opening the hub, doing this would boost your margin instantly because you will be using the gate slots that are formerly empty, with the hub gates as the only additional costs.

If you are looking at it from a cash-flow perspective, then what Matias said.

If you are looking at it from a ROI perspective, you would need to set up an excel and plug in data based on experience / projection to decide the exact point between the above two (as in when the wait to save up, and hence lacking a instant return on the cash-on-hand, would provide a large enough additional ROI to put you in a better place than if you re-invest in new planes at hub 1 instantly).

If you are looking at it from a competition perspective, you might want to stake your claim on some airports at the earliest possible, or you might want to have a hefty reserve before swooping into certain airports and launch a large network in a very short time.

Not helping... I know. ;)

Game Strategy / Re: New to AM, needing advice/tips

One way is to start with smaller planes. The ROI is potentially higher.

Another way is to lease in aircrafts, which turn your initial capex into opex. This helps in terms of cash-flow, provided that you are based in a large enough hub and get leases that are affordable.

Monthly costs (rental, maint and such) are paid at the start of the month. They would impact your cash-flow and could easily put you into negative cash in the start up phrase. There is not need to be alarm; it is perfectly normal. As long as your financial projections (Report -> Finance) project a monthly profit, you should be fine.

You need to have empty slots in your gates at both origin and destination in order to create a route. The number of slots available would dictate the maximum frequency you could create. Each gate has 10 slots and as such each gate could cater to multiple flights / routes.

Hope this helps.

Suggestions / Re: Thread for Broking Demand.
« on: September 06, 2013, 01:47:32 pm »
The simple reason is that there is no official broker assigned for that world. :)

Official brokers are assigned on a world by world basis. They do not cater to all worlds across the board and as such there could be game worlds without any brokers. Please also note that brokers are players too and there could be circumstances that prevent them from putting planes on the aircraft market.

In the future, you may simply drop a note through our support system or through email :staff: when this happens.

The broker market is only for official brokers. Please use the aircraft market in the "world info" message board in the game world instead.
