I got the new plane though, after looking at a bunch of sports aircraft manufacturers. That USAF marking tricked me! I looked at all of their trainer aircraft - they have a lot of them!
Anyhow, I got the aircraft, it is a Sonex Onex

Also, that's correct! Sonex it is. I had a hand in building one while in high school.
