Hey! It's me Anthony, the current owner of PW 1757 (Holiday Flight), one of my most successful private worlds I created on AM, and I would like to announce that as my early birthday gift to my fellow players, I am accepting reservations from today, Saint Patrick's Day, to join my upcoming world, entitled AiRevoLegacy. Strange name, eh? It's a portmanteau of three words: Airline, Revolution, and Legacy, and a friend and I chose that title because we are specifically searching for legacy airlines (cf. Private World 303) who can keep up with the demands of a long-lasting world, as well as for new airlines who would like to start their lives in a fast-paced environment.
It will have more players than my current one, with 80 slots, and the features in the world will include:
- You can have up to 20 total bases, with 5 international bases for you to choose
- More money that you will have (1,000,000 euros) for start up than PW 1757's 800,000 euros
- More jet aircraft to begin with (4 Airbus A320-200s vs. 3 Airbus A319s)
- Three gates allocated to you for start up (vs. 2 in PW 1757)
- Start year will be earlier than my first one (1989 vs. 1997), and the end year will be later (2010)
- Password-enabled so that active airlines can truly participate
- Both civil aircraft and business jets will be available
- Opportunities for brokers to join in are most welcome -- we are looking for around three
- Room for expansion by request when needed
- Full world coverage

well, i am not going full throttle (not doing my best) in that world. My rule of thumb is
1) use up all your planes
2) go regional first, then international
3)use gate search
...
i broke the first to rules so i bumped down to 3rd. now the maintenance is choking me, so i am just waiting for the world to finish and then i might go full throttle on the upcoming world.
i totally creamed 54 airlines in 2 weeks (real) in one world. (yup, i was second, just needed 10bn value to get to te top...)
Watch out GPWestJet. Toronto Pearson is the 3rd base on my list....

[Mastafa] hah, including me. Yes, I tend to keep extra a/c in case I wanted to develop even more, and I still manage to get onto the top 10 and 25... :P But, yes, I'll do my best to buy only what I need since I went spending crazy again.
And yes, for anyone else who wants to reserve a spot in my upcoming world, there's no better time than now to do it since I will hand out the key for the world whenever we hit about 50 slots reserved...

And yes, the reservation book is slowly filling up, but we're not yet to the point that I need to change my plans and add extra spaces later. So, if you want to get four Airbus A320-200s, 1m euro start up cash, 3 gates, and a full world setting in a competitive environment, then join my upcoming world, AiRevoLegacy! You never know what you'll get into once it starts, but trust me, it will be really fun to watch from May 1st.

Just a quick update: I will update the password portion for my upcoming world, and good news: NO NEED to remember the code. This will mean it will be password-free again, same as my previous worlds, so that more airlines can join in!

I was referring to the other world gopats and I are working together in. 20 bases in this one as apposed to four in the other one.

Easter Update
Sorry if I haven't come back for some time due to university work and Holy Week, but here's something to cheer you up: the world will start as scheduled on May 1st. Don't worry, there will be no changes to the guidelines; it's that the document I have for the upcoming world has been updated to keep up with schedule.
Plus, I will finalize the guidelines and details of my upcoming world on the document as well, so stay tuned for the details on it! Who knows, I might open it on the midnight of April 30th... :)

Atlanta and ORD are the only two airports I've been successful in doing that at. Sean has Atlanta so that explains it. at the moment my doc is 1.4 million. Not bad... but not worthy of first place. lol

It really depends on how the incumbent airline is playing. In most private worlds, the great majority of players never play with optimal strategy.
If you can sneak in and use optimal strategy, then you can quickly overtake the incumbent and dominate.

My strategy in larger private/public worlds is to find large airports (~30 million pax +) that are un-inhabitted. Then, I saturate those airports. I've usually finished in the Top 10 of every world where I wanted to (ie: didn't start in Africa)
