Still having problems closing routes out of Gatwick.

Namely Brussels, Copenhagen and Dublin (all operated by Martin 4-0-4's)

Routes operated by other aircraft work fine

ID is still 996

My Birmingham (BHX) - Madrid (MAD) route won't close.

I have tried twice today, and despite getting the "route closed sucessfully" message, it still remains in my route list!

My airline ID is 996,

thanks folks

How come some airlines have more than one DC3 already?

Surely you cant already have raised the funds to buy a new one, and have it delivered?
There doesnt appear to be any for sale or lease anyway!

Bugs / VIEW USER!
« on: October 11, 2007, 12:32:52 pm »
I had it, but only through the "Admin" section. Didn't touch anything, just searched my own name, before realising exactly what it was.

When I logged back in, it was gone. I suspect it can only be accessed from one particular page (Rankings I think?)

Someone seems to have given me admin powers since the reset.

My account (996) has a "view user" function that seems to give me access to the database of users, and stuff..

Dont worry, I wont do anything rash! Just thought you ought to know

Ok, I know the policy on multiple users etc

But...
My brother has taken an interest in playing in the next round, are we ok to have two airlines, as we would be sharing the same PC (and presumably the same IP adress), or is there some automated system that will prevent this>

I would expect there wont be any "favouritism" between us, though it might be hard. (hey at least I'm honest) not to agree a few discounts for "family members" (I wouldnt want to hurt his pride too much when he still has one plane and I own the largest fleet in the family!)

Just to let you know...

My A300-600 (ID-69675) is apparently on two sides of the world at once, flying Alliance routes from Cancun - Fort Lauderdale and Charlotte, and also flying Gatwick - Birmingham. despite no obvious connection!

My airline ID is 996

General Chat / Problems (Ticket Prices)

Remember this for the next round folks...

Starting up in the big cities is gonna be a killer. Go for the ones no-one else wants, fly a few good routes to the big cities, with limited competition, build up the fleet, then move into the big ones.

I've looked at some European routes out of my LGW base, and its like 12euros a ticket, and still they are fighting over it.

The airline world isnt fair, find your niche, and you'll do ok though

General Chat / The Use of 0.5 Frequency "Cheat"
« on: August 21, 2007, 02:43:23 am »
One solution might be to make it impossible to do 0.5 frequencies where a "1" is possible.

Ie. Heathrow to Dusseldorf with a 737-300 (No 0.5's - maybe 1.5/2.5?)
Heathrow to Johannesburg with a 767-300ER (0.5 frequency allowed, as thats all the aircraft can manage IIRC)

It'd maybe be more complicated, but could it be tied in with demand as well? Where routes with average or poor demand could be flown one way, but routes with good or excellent demand couldnt? (where range allows).
This might encourage airlines to operate "unpopular routes". I might send an ATR42 from Cardiff to the Isle of Man one way, but I might not be able to turn a decent profit doing a daily return.

in the real world, airlines often operate 3weekly frequencies on long haul or low demand... but rarely do for high density commuter routes. I see no reason why a longhaul flight cant land, stay overnight and return!!! I also dont see why a shorthaul flight would only fly one way when a return home is perfectly possible!

Apologies if this has been suggested before.

Bugs / Route creation

An Aircraft  - 45897 (boeing 747 - on loan from D:Express)

An Airline - 996 Evanescent

A gate  - London Gatwick.

A route London Gatwick - Sao Paulo.

When trying to create the above route, i recieve the error message

"Good. next
There was a problem in creating the route.
Duplicate entry '0' for key 9"

On closer inspection, it would appear that the aircraft has been "half assigned" to the route. (i.e the hours have been deducted, but the route has not been created). i think the same problem may have happened to my other leased 747 (46243).
I noticed this when I went to create routes from Edinburgh and Liverpool, and realised that the two 747's were availiable, despite the fact they were both assigned to routes out of LGW

Thanks
