China unveils its brand new flag carrier to the world
Beijing, People's Republic of China - 5 April 1999: Today the People's Republic of China is proud to announce the launch and inaugural flight of the new carrier, China Airways. Based at Beijing Capital International Airport, the new airline will proudly take up its position as official carrier of the People's Republic of China. The airline launched with six domestic routes to:
- Harbin, Heilongjiang in Northeastern China
- Jinan, the capital of Shandong
- Ningbo in the Yangtze River Delta region
- Taiyuan, the capital of the Shanxi province
- Tianjin in Northern China and one of the five national central cities of the People's Republic of China
- Yinchuan, the capital of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region
China Airways also launched its first international route to Busan in South Korea, connecting the People's Republic of China with the Republic of Korea for the first time by air. The airline operates scheduled daily services to all the destinations above with its first aircraft, a Boeing 737-400.
Currently the only carrier in the country, China Airways has got a number of expansion plans in progress with its first brand new aircraft on order. The new aircraft will serve smaller regional destinations, connecting the People of China with each other, the easy way.

China Airways expands route network to South Korea
Beijing, People's Republic of China - 20 May 1999: Today, China Airways, the flag carrier of the People's Republic of China unveils the first part of its Asia expansion plans, revealing additional routes to the neighbouring Korean Peninsula. Three new daily flights from Beijing will now serve three additional destinations in South Korea, adding to the airline's existing daily flight to Gimhae International in Busan, South Korea, that launched earlier this year. The new South Korean destinations are:

China Airways is currently working on expanding its domestic route network as well as preparing phase 2 of its international route network expansion into Japan, Taiwan and Russia. Currently the Chinese carrier is the airline of choice of nearly 4,000 daily passengers with the number growing on a daily basis.

China Airways welcomes you to North Korea!
Beijing, People's Republic of China - 21 September 1999: Today, China Airways, the flag carrier of the People's Republic of China is proud to announce the addition of Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) to its ever expanding list of destinations. The brand new non-stop daily service will operate seven days a week from Beijing Capital International Airport using China Airways' latest aircraft, the Boeing 737-800.

Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
As China Airways' fifth international destination, the sowewhat controversial North Korean capital city, Pyongyang, is unlike any other on earth. An ideological statement forged in concrete, bronze and marble, Pyongyang is the ultimate totalitarian metropolis, built almost entirely from scratch following its destruction in the Korean War. The city offers breathtaking monuments, towers, statues and buildings that includes the Triumphal Arch, the Tower of the Juche Idea and the Mansudae Grand Monument and a rendering of founder of the People's Republic of Korea, Kim Il-sung eternalised in bronze. While these are all impressive, a gentle stroll on Pyongyang’s relaxed Moran Hill, amongst many other things, is a great way to experience the locals having picnics, playing music and idling away sunny afternoons.
The expansion into North Korea initiated China Airways' third phase of its expansion plans. The airline also expanded its domestic route network and now offers daily flights from Beijing to:
- Two major cities in the Liaoning Province - The seaport city Dalian and Shenyang the largest city in Northeast China
- Qingdao, another seaport and major industrial centre in eastern Shandong Province, Eastern China

Additionally China Airways now flies to five destinations in South Korea with a new daily flight to Gimpo International Airport, the third largest airport in South Korea.
Currently China Airways offers daily flights to 27 destinations in China and North & South Korea to over 6,000 passengers every day. The immediate expansion into North and South Korea will help strengthening ties between the three countries and promote international travel and tourism.

The new full service, fulfilled by the airline's brand new Boeing 737-700 aircraft will operate daily return flights to Kagoshima - connecting the passengers of China Airways with the Land of the Rising Sun for the first time!

Voted as Japan's friendliest city, Kagoshima was the natural choice for China Airways' first route to Japan. A volcanic tropical paradise that could easily become known as the 'Hawaii of Japan', Kagoshima is one of the easiest places to get up close and personal with live volcanoes. While the massive three-peak volcano, active continuously, rises like a giant broken molar out of the surrounding blue waters of Kinko Bay, Yakushima, one of Kagoshima's many outlying islands and a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a ferry ride away to see giant cedar trees, dive and snorkel with tropical fish, hike the highest mountain in all of Kyuushuu (Mount Miyanoura), and see unique species such as Yaku monkeys and Yaku deer. At the tranquil tip of Kagoshima's Satsuma peninsula lies the tourist town of Ibusuki, famous for its amazing hot sand baths. The magma is so close to the surface that it warms the sandy beaches of the town. For a few hundred yen, cheery octogenarians will bury visitors up to their neck and even mop the sweat from their brows as they cook in the sand for as long as they can handle it. It's an experience hot spring buffs travel from all over Japan to enjoy! The new air connection between China and Japan's Kagoshima will boost international travel and tourism to this tropical paradise and reveal there's more to Japan than Tokyo and sushi.

Additionally China Airways' domestic route network now stands strong at 25 routes with daily flights to destinations across China. The latest additions include Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi province and home to the Tengwang Pavilion, a towering pavilion on the east bank of the Gan River and one of "the Four Great Towers of China"; the "mild and pleasant land" of Wenzhou in southern Zhejiang Province and Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province and home of the famous Wu Ta (??) "Black Pagoda".
Currently China Airways provides over 7,500 daily passengers with its world class full onboard service to 32 destinations in China, North & South Korea and now Japan. The airline has got several aircraft on order as part of its immediate short and medium haul expansion plans.

Two new non-stop flights have been added to the airline's international route network from Beijing to Frankfurt, Germany's second-largest metropolitan region and Zurich, the capital of Switzerland. The new flights mark the airline's entry into the European travel market.

Named "Princess Pan" after the wife of Emperor Zhenzong of Song in imperial China's Song Dynasty, the aircraft takes to the sky in the latest outfitting to provide passengers with maximum comfort and a luxurious experience. For the first time since I started playing AM 4 years ago, I am going to try and do it with an all Boeing fleet in this world. It’s a nice challenge to set yourself and it forces you to explore the capabilities of aircraft you are not so familiar with. So far its going well! Do you play in any worlds at the moment?

Not really, but I am thinking of doing one in Saudi Arabia and one in China.
I like doing entire fleets from one manufacturer, though I feel the 738 has a too high fuel cost compared to real life. So I tend to do Airbus short to medium haul fleets and then a Boeing long haul fleet, for me nothing can be the 777 and 747 :)

One of the coolest, most cosmopolitan, most exciting and most wonderful cities in Scandinavia, Copenhagen in Denmark was an easy and natural choice for China Airways. These days the Danish capital is blossoming. There is a spring in its step borne from a mixture of some brave new architecture, continued prosperity and a burgeoning confidence in its own charms. There are more cafés and restaurants than ever and, more importantly, the locals are learning how to use them. Copenhagen hailed as one of the 'most liveable cities in the world', is clean, safe and ridiculously easy to get to know with something new and exhilirating waiting around every corner.
The two new routes are served by "Empress Wu", a brand new Boeing 777-200ER named after the only female monarch of China who ruled the empire for over half a century. The new aircraft welcomes 440 passengers onboard with the airline's standard long-haul cabin layout of 10 Seats in Qin Dynasty (First class), 30 Seats in Tang Dynasty (Business class) and 400 seats in Ming Dynasty (Economy class). For improved, more efficient in-flight service, "Empress Wu" is equipped with an advanced cabin management system. Linked to a computerised control console, the cabin management system assists the cabin crew with many tasks and allows the airline to provide new services for passengers, including a digital sound system comparable to the most state-of-the-art home stereo or disc players.
China Airways' European division now offers daily flights to Denmark, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Russia and Switzerland with more coming soon. The airline also recently added additional routes from Hong Kong to various destinations in Thailand and Malaysia as part of its Asian route expansion strategy. Currently China Airways handles 60% of all air traffic at Beijing Capital International Airport, 78% of all air traffic at its second base at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and 80% of all air traffic from it's third base, Hong Kong International Airport. China Airways launch full-service operations from Shanghai
Shanghai, People's Republic of China - 20 April 2003: After several months of speculation by the travel and tourism trade and general public, today China Airways, flag carrier of the People's Republic of China, unveils the next step in its strategic growth plan. Another new base have joined the China Airways family as the airline commenced full-service operations from China's Eastern Coast out of Shanghai, one of the country's largest cities by population and the financial powerhouse of South East Asia.

China Airways launched services from Shanghai Pudong International Airport with a launch fleet of:
- Short haul: Four Boeing 737-600 and four Boeing 737-700
- Medium haul: Four Boeing 737-800
- Medium international haul: Two Boeing 757-300 and;
- Long international haul: One Boeing 777-200ER
Currently 55 China Airways daily flights take off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to various destinations in China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and Korea. In addition to its expanding short and medium haul network, the airline also launched two long haul international services to Brisbane in Australia and Oslo in Norway. The new long haul destinations are served by the airline's international aircraft of choice, the Boeing 777-200ER aptly named "Queen Taisi", a descendant of Yu the Great - founder of the Xia Dynasty - and the mother of ten sons, including King Wu of Zhou - founder of the Zhou Dynasty, and boasts the airline's superior and luxurious interior and air amenities China Airways' have become famous for.
The addition of Shanghai as the airline's fourth base, vastly expands China Airways' offering to travellers in China and beyond its borders. Currently China Airways offer it's average 120,000 daily passengers over 345 daily flights to over 160 destinations globally making it one of the world's largest and most preferred carriers. China Airways is now accountable for nearly 60% of all flights from Beijing, 80% of all air traffic at Guangzhou, 82% of all flights from Hong Kong and proudly handles nearly 90% of all air traffic at Shanghai.
