Welcome to public world 3558, first world to introduce these new features!

This world is a bit different from other worlds you might have played in. Take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the changes to ensure you enjoy this world to the fullest!

Order Books are now in place, slowing down the pace aircraft are delivered - read more about this feature in the game wiki

In essence, aircraft manufacturers have limited production. Base production is limited to ten airframes per month, but full order books will trigger a bigger production line. Similarly, empty order books will result in smaller production lines. To ensure some sort of fairness, any single airline is limited to 33% of the output per month when ordering aircraft. This includes most brokerage purchases.

Improved Lease System - now with early return penalties!

This means leases have a fixed period. Within this period the lease can only be returned with a penalty. Some leases are Lease-to-Own, which means the aircraft will automatically be transferred to the lessee (airline paying the lease) after the end of the lease, without closing any routes.

Pre-orders - aircraft can be pre-ordered a year before production start!

Read more about these new features exclusive to this world by clicking the links above. Most importantly though, be sure to have fun and enjoy this world!

Private World Discussion & Invitation / New, long world (50+ years)
« on: July 31, 2019, 05:16:45 pm »
After having talked to some of you in the discord chat, I have decided to go forward and create a new, long world.
We are some players who enjoy taking an airline and grow it slowly to create a sense of natural progression and history. In the last long world I have been part of, I made sure to document the fleet my airline had. I know some other airlines make news every once in a while.

The point of this post is to promote this world - it is always more fun with more people playing! The world will be as follows:
  • Created on Friday, 9th of August in European evening. 24 hours to set up your airline before world clock starts.
  • Run from 60s until today
  • Full world, generous starting aircraft selection
  • Many/unlimited number of bases
  • Frequent pruning of bankrupt and inactive airlines to reduce congestion
  • New flight block calculation for realistic flight times
  • Beta version of the new maintenance mechanics
  • No password

Any suggestions and requests are very welcome! I'll be happy to welcome you in this world

Game Updates / Hotswap aircraft
« on: May 27, 2019, 08:31:10 pm »
Hotswapping one aircraft's routes all at once is now possible! You can hotswap with the exactly same aircraft type and all routes will be transferred, just use the checkboxes on the view aircraft list and make sure that half the checked aircraft have 24 hours free

Let us know if you find any mistakes and errors, we will continuously be developing and updating this feature (thanks, Stephen!)

Private World Discussion & Invitation / Long worlds

Hi everyone,

What do you think about long (20+ years) worlds? Do you enjoy them? I have played in a few until now, and I enjoy seeing the airline grow and evolve over time. I know Thunderstruck has had a few of these worlds where he removes inactive airlines. The other long world I trieddoesn't remove inactive airlines which can crowd popular routes.

Which kind of worlds do you enjoy the most?

General Chat / Route numbering schemes
« on: February 10, 2019, 11:44:24 am »
How do you guys use route numbers in the game? I use numbers 001-099 for intercontinental routes and 100-299 for routes from Copenhagen and so on. But the problem is, I now have 99 intercontinental routes and have run out of numbers. Where do I continue? Numbers 100 and up are taken, what is free is around 1500 and up. Any suggestions?

One of the hard things about making new logos and liveries is coming up with a colour scheme and a logo. Fear not, as I have collected a selection of websites that can help you in the process. I haven't tested all of them, but at least the colour generators should be login-free. Logo generators are free too, but some might want you to make a user before downloading the logo.

Colour generators:

Game Updates / Updated airport passenger numbers
« on: May 10, 2017, 06:08:03 pm »
Hello airline managers!

During the past few months we have been updating our airports with city names, states/provinces and - most importantly - up-to-date passenger numbers. Currently we have more than 1000 airports with data from 2016 and around 200 new airports resulting from new and updated statistics data. As great as it is, we at Airline Mogul still have a long way to go. Some countries publish frequent air transport statistics which is very useful, but other countries have no database or no information that is easily available. This kind of research takes a lot of time to perform, especially if you have to search around for data from about 200 countries.
This is where your help counts: Maybe you have information about recent airport passenger statistics, maybe you know somebody who works in the industry. Whichever the case, if you have official statistics from any of the countries mentioned below, we would be more than happy to have a look. You can send the data to our staff email :staff: and we will make sure to add the data to the game as soon as possible
To show our appreciation for your help, any data that leads to updated passenger data will be rewarded with up to 100 tokens!

What data is useful to us? Good question! We prefer data from 2016 and the same source (e.g. national statistics bureau) for the whole country. Of course, individual airport statistics are okay too, as is data from earlier years as long as it is the most recent. We can't use statistics from Wikipedia unless they have a source - and then we would prefer a link to the source.
When will I see the new passenger numbers? Any new world created after the new passenger numbers have been added to the game will contain the new passenger numbers.
When will I see the new airport I added? New airports will appear right after we add them to the game. You might have already noticed the new airports added recently.

This is a complete list of countries we do not have up to date data for; the list is split in two, the first list is countries we have no or very old data for, the second list is countries we have recent data or most data for. It can say something like 'Only Minsk' meaning we have data for Minsk but not other airports, or it can say '2013' which means the data we have is from 2013. Countries we have received data for will be crossed out from the list.

Game Strategy / Aircraft that can fly Sydney - Europe one stop
« on: February 23, 2017, 10:18:34 pm »
Hi guys,

I am currently in a tight spot aircraft wise. I need to replace my MD-11s with something new, but I cannot seem to find a worthy replacement. The main purpose of my MD-11s is one-stop flights from Australia to Europe and USA. A flight Sydney - Bangkok -  Frankfurt takes almost 24 hours one way on an MD-11, but it's possible. No other similar aircraft can do that as far as I can see: The 747-400 has too long turn around time, the B777-200 is slow and so is the A340.
It seems to me that reducing the turn around times would be the only place to optimize here, as only the Ilyushin Il-96 can fly as long as the MD-11 one-stop. Also the B747-300, but it's really, really fast.
My wish is to have either only Boeing or Airbus aircraft, but which to choose? Will there be a faster aircraft in the next few years? Or should I "cheat" and make the stopover a mini-hub and flying my aircraft from there (instead of e.g. Sydney-Bangkok-Paris)? Or just keep the MD-11s going forever?

Year: 1998
Code: [Select]
MD11: speed: 510, turn time: 1,64, range: 7980, max distance with one stop: 10567
B744: speed: 493, turn time: 2,10, range: 8429, max distance with one stop:  9765
B772: speed: 481, turn time: 1,76, range: 8820, max distance with one stop:  9850
A342: speed: 475, turn time: 1,68, range: 8510, max distance with one stop:  9804
A332: speed: 467, turn time: 1,17, range: 6370, max distance with one stop: 10113
Il96: speed: 485, turn time: 1,16, range: 7475, max distance with one stop: 10519

AussieWings signing big deal with Airbus!

After long negotiations with different manufacturers, AussieWings have signed a contract for seven A310s with an option for seven more to be delivered later this year. This is a part of the big expansion plan underway which will connect Australia and AussieWings to no more than six continents all over the globe with direct flights to Australia. We will double our number of overseas destinations up to 20! All our big Australian bases and Auckland will get new flights, together with some overseas destinations.

We will still keep the destinations a secret, but maybe you can take a guess at where we will fly soon?

Airline Reports / [PW3039] Biz Express news
« on: January 08, 2016, 09:29:48 pm »
Biz Express is celebrating its entrance into the Compare alliance, adding three new hubs to a world class alliance. The business model is built around small aircraft and frequent flights, ensuring maximum connectivity. But it's not all for work, we do connect vacation destinations up to twice daily, as seen on the map below. This includes the same good service as on all our other routes.

Vacation routes

While vacation is good, we do have very good connections within France and Germany, from Paris and Nice, and Munich, respectively. Each city is usually served twice daily per hub shown, some cities have more services.

French domestic routes (and Geneva and Luxembourg)

Munich domestic routes and routes to Austria

The livery takes two weeks to paint on each aircraft, that time is used to make sure the interior fittings and other equipment works as expected, and beyond that. We always have the quality in mind for our dear and beloved business travellers.
