Title: Route Maps are not working
Post by: Inti on August 26, 2019, 05:03:44 pm
All the route maps are not working.  Whether I go to my home page, or click on a plane to see it's routes.  It just shows the icon that is a dead link (picture).

Thanks

Hello, what is your user ID?  Do you get the problem with all maps or only when viewing maps directly (not when viewing your airline)? Tell us a bit more and we will be able to help you better

Hello, thanks for the reply.

userid = 2797

One example is when I click on my airline name.  Then i get this page:

https://www.airlinemogul.com/view_airline.php?id=2797

another example,  when I go to an individual plane, it used to show the airplane's route map, that doesn't work either.  Aircraft route map:
https://www.airlinemogul.com/ac_info.php?id=9944

last example, when I click on an airport, the routes on the right hand side don't show up either.
https://www.airlinemogul.com/view_airport.php?id=359

Thank you

Hello there,

I believe the issue here is relating to Airline Mogul using SSL to protect user connections while on the website. GCMap currently do not use SSL and the page will not load content from a non-secure source. Depending on your browser you may be able to click on the top left where a padlock icon or Secure/Not Secure description appears and change the settings to allow GCMap's output to appear.

We will at some point re-write internal route maps to replace the GCMap content so that everything is secure and works as expected.

One workaround is to click on the dead picture link which should take you to the page on Great Circle Mapper from here:

Hello :)

I was wondering if there was any update to this issue? I have been playing AM for about 8 years and watching my airline route map grow was one of my favourite features.
Hoping this might be able to get fixed at some point soon.

Many thanks
Ollie

Having more than 1500-2000 routes will do that to your route map, unfortunately

Thanks for the reply but this happens with any route map for me. I've tried changing the site settings and using a different browser & computer. The only device I own that will show maps in any form is my iPhone on Safari.

Thanks

Can you send a link to the airline that has problems with the route map? Maybe there is an airport in there that has a wrong code or something

ID 835066
Name - Dan Z
Affecting all three PWs I'm in - #'s 3590, 3592 & 3593

I believe the problem is that GC Map is down, but I would just like to confirm with Matias, Stephen M, et al. that there is an issue with maps. Was working fine for all involved worlds as of early Thursday morning but Thursday evening when logged back in was when I encountered the issue. All other functions of AM are working fine, but having broken maps makes the experience much less fun when creating routes and giving users a visual aid.

My maps have not been working for the past couple of days.  ID 9238.  Have tried safari and chrome.  Everything I try doesn't seem to work.

Sorry for the delayed response. It was/is indeed a problem with Gcmap and their server
