Game Data / Kyiv (not Kiev)
« on: September 09, 2023, 10:21:16 am »
Greetings,

So the whole world has come to learn a lot about Ukraine since Feb 24th 2022, and there is so much to admire in this nation and its people.

One of the things we learned, is that for the Ukrainians, they state the spelling of their capital city in our alphabet should be Kyiv rather than Kiev.

This article from the Guardian newspaper sums it up :

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/feb/25/how-to-pronounce-and-spell-kyiv-kiev-ukraine-and-why-it-matters

Also, as per the official airport's page, they write their name (in our alphabet) as follows : Boryspil
See:  https://kbp.aero/en/

So without getting into anything too deep or controversial, I was just hoping that Airline Mogul could update the way they spell Kyiv, so that perhaps we could read:

"Boryspil International Airport - Kyiv" rather that the current "Borispol Airport - Kiev".

Thanks for your consideration.

Game Data / Región de Murcia International Airport
« on: September 09, 2023, 10:01:44 am »
Hello,

The game currently includes the Murcia–San Javier Airport (LELC / MJV) - however since 2019 this has become a strictly military facility for the Spanish Air Force.

Indeed, they have constructed a new civilian airport : Región de Murcia International Airport (LEMI / RMU) which see incoming flights from carriers such as Ryanair, EasyJet, Air Arabia, Binter etc...

Perhaps you could put the passenger numbers of LELC down to "0", and include LEMI instead?

As per the aena's official airport page, the passenger volume in 2022 was : 838 940
https://www.aena.es/es/internacional-region-de-murcia/conocenos/presentacion.html

Thank you.

Game Data / Beijing Nanyuan Airport
« on: January 11, 2021, 11:42:38 am »
Hi there,

Just spotted that the Beijing Nanyuan Airport (or 北京南苑机场) is still active in the game whereas it has been closed since 2019, with the flights switched over to the new Daxing Airport.

Thanks.

Game Data / New Istanbul Airport
« on: December 17, 2019, 02:18:41 pm »
Greetings,

Here is a major city to please update in the game data: Istanbul.

Indeed, Atatürk Airport (ISL/LTBA) has ceased all scheduled commercial flights in April 2019.
Flights have since been transferred to the brand new "Istanbul Airport" (IST/LTFM).

The "IST" IATA code has been transferred to the new airport.

This should be, when totally completed, one of the world's largest airports : 6 or 8 runways and possibly up to 200 Million yearly passengers if extended to maximum capacity.

Cheers & all the best.

Suggestions / Alliance application notifications
« on: November 10, 2019, 12:12:10 pm »
Hi there,

A quick suggestion: it would be useful if members of an alliance would receive an automatic in-game message/notification when a new airline attempts to join the alliance. This would make us aware of an airline's application, and allow us to vote.

At the moment sometimes I don't realize until it's too late that a new airline has applied to join an alliance.

Cheers, apart from that happy weekend.

Spotted another one to update: Durban, South Africa.

Since the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the new airport is King Shaka International (DUR/FALE). It replaces the older Durban International Airport (DUR/FADN).

Coordinates of new airport are : 29°37.0′S 031°6.5′E

Best regards.

Hello AM Team!

Just spotted several updates for the airport database, for your consideration.

1°) EGYPT - Mubarak International Airport (HMB / HESG) is of course no longer named after the former Egyptian president. It retains its IATA and ICAO codes, but is now named "Sohag International Airport". Indeed, an Egyptian court ruling ordered Mubarak's name removed from all establishments.

2°) DOMINICA - Melville Hall airport (DOM / TDPD) on this small Caribbean island has been renamed Douglas-Charles Airport. As is usually the case, it retains its IATA and ICAO codes.

3°) SENEGAL - Leopold Sedar Senghor International (DKR / GOOY) was the main international airport for Dakar until December 2017. It is now only a cargo or military facility, because it has since been replaced by the newly constructed Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS / GOBD). Due to its recent start of operations, I was unable to find official yearly passenger figures for the airport. These are expected to rise in the future.

4°) SAINT BARTHELEMY - Gustaf III Airport (SBH / TFFJ), is erroneously entered into "Guadeloupe" as a country. This was initially correct, however back in 2003 this island voted to secede from Guadeloupe. Following this democratic decision, it is now a distinct and separate French Collectivité d'Outre-Mer.  A similar issue affects the L'Espérance Airport (SFG / TFFG) on Saint-Martin (which has been removed by decree from Guadeloupe since 2007). Therefore to place these two airports under "Guadeloupe" is contrary to either democratic decision of Saint Barthélemy, or to the current official status of St-Martin. They do remain part of France. I realize that placing them in a new/separate country in Airline Mogul may be somewhat of a challenge, so I'll understand if you leave the airports where they currently are.

Kind regards.

I'm very careful with recycling things and always showing the Love towards our planet. However I have to admit I'm biased towards aviation: fly on!

I take comfort that engines are becoming always more fuel efficient. I know its a large source of pollution, but I just like aircraft and traveling too much!

Game Data / Austria / Österreich : updated passenger figures
« on: June 04, 2019, 05:20:38 pm »
Good day / Servus!

Here are the updated figures for Austrian airports. Vienna Airport sees a particularly impressive rise in passenger numbers.

VIENNA, from current  23,352,016 up to 27,037,349 yearly passengers.
Link is from official Vienna airport website (in German). Midway through the document are the official yearly figures for 2018
 https://www.viennaairport.com/unternehmen/investor_relations/news/verkehrsergebnisse?news_beitrag_id=1547640734879

For the other Austrian airports, I consulted this link (in German). They are from the official "STATISTIK AUSTRIA" organization.
http://www.statistik.at/web_de/statistiken/energie_umwelt_innovation_mobilitaet/verkehr/luftfahrt/personenverkehr/070712.html

To get the total figures, you need to refer to the tables for "Fluggäste" (passengers), and add the columns for "AN" (arrivals) + "AB" (departures) + "Transit". These are the official figures for 2018.

I did the calculations for you, but it's always better if you double check.

INNSBRUCK:     1,119,347 yearly passengers
GRAZ:                 1,030,929 yearly passengers
KLAGENFURT:      228,372 yearly passengers
LINZ:                     464,586 yearly passengers
SALZBURG:       1,844,468 yearly passengers

Some of the variations are minimal compared to current AM figures, but at least you would have the exact and latest airport figures for Austria.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen.

Game Data / Morocco - New Passenger figures (year 2017)
« on: June 03, 2019, 01:07:55 pm »
Good day,

Here are  the updated passenger figures for Moroccan airports, for the year 2017.

Figures are from the official "Office National Des Aéroports" (ONDA).

http://www.onda.ma/content/download/9803/88734/version/1/fichier/CP+trafic+ann%C3%A9e+2017.pdf

For example:

* Casablanca's current AM yearly pax: 7,971,705 ----> new passenger figure 9 ,357,427 pax.
* Tangier's current AM yearly pax: 766,364  ----> new passenger figure 1,070,247  pax.

Hopefully you'll be able to update the game data soon. Let me know if you need help translating from French, but the table on page 2 of the document should be pretty straightforward to understand.

Best regards.

Bugs / [Fixed] Message Board
« on: May 31, 2019, 10:10:52 am »
Hi, it's me again.

Sorry but I have another issue now, in this same world PW3360.

It concerns the in-world forum aka "Message Board".

In Firefox:

I can create a new post by choosing the "category" and then entering a "subject" for the post. But then it will not allow me to type in any text in the "message" box. Same thing occurs if I hit "reply" instead of creating a new post.

In Internet Explorer:

Although I prefer Firefox, I tried with I.E. to see if any difference. Here I can indeed type in a text message. However once I publish the post, the formatting is somewhat off (wide spaces, unusual layout, truncated text). If I attempt to edit this post, then it's not possible, I get a strange message such as:

Under the above announcement I read: "Airline Mogul is not responding due to a long running script".

It also won't let me delete the post, on either of the two browsers.

Could you please also have a look at this issue?

Thanks

Bugs / Trouble in re-setting myself
« on: May 29, 2019, 03:30:13 pm »
Greetings AM Team,

I'm the "owner" or PW3360. After several weeks of absence for various reasons, I wanted to come back into my long world, and re-set my airline.

However, this is not working correctly it seems. Issues are:

* No name / Logo will appear at the top of my "view airline" page [https://www.airlinemogul.com/view_airline.php?id=36799]
* My status is noted as : "Inactive"
* Several of the aircraft operated/owned by my previous airline prior to reset have not been removed.

Basically, it doesn't really appear to work. I have attempted to reset myself 3 times with the same result, and to log off and back on.

Would you please have a look and let me know if you can reset me from your end?

Also, while I am here bothering you, could you please also change the starting aircraft from "3 X MD-83" to "3 X Bombardier CRJ-200LR" ? If at all possible, do this prior to resetting my airline, so that I can start anew with those 3 aircraft.

Thanks a lot!
