Hi,

I've logged in again after a couple of years away and looked over the forums to see what's going on.

I wonder how active Airline Mogul is these days? There doesn't seem to be many recent forum posts.

Also I wonder are any of the big players making a decent Private World like there was before?

Private World Discussion & Invitation / Question about joining a Private World

Hi,
I thought about joining a Private World for the first time, and I wonder is there any way to see what cities are free before I join?
I'm kinda doing OK in the Public World which is going to end soon, but getting Carpel Tunnel Syndrome editing my competition routes every day
I'd like to join in a Private World at a big city without getting into that mad competition right away

Game Strategy / Hub Effect

I notice I can increase the fares on my routes every few days, I read this is the 'hub effect'. But I wonder what effects it?
It is something that goes up by itself every day, or when you add routes from a hub, or something else?
I notice some days the fares can be increased a lot, and other days by not very much.

Like yesterday I bought a Tu-134 and put it on some of my longer routes that were being operated by a Fairchild FH227-B and I was disappointed with the profit increase, in fact on 2 routes the profit was less. But then today I did the hub-effect fare hike and now the profits are a lot better.

Game Strategy / Airline Evaluation?

Hi,
I'm sorry if this post is in the wrong place - it seemed a good enough place to ask
Is it possible that some more experienced player can take a quick look at my Airline and see what you think I should do next?
I've kind of maxed out large airports within range of my FH227s as well as captured quite a few closer, smaller ones.
I'm thinking of saving up for a bit then moving to regional jets and putting something like a BAE146 on the longer, more profitable routes currently run with a FH227B.
Obviously I'm not out to rule the World (yet ), I just want to see how things work before I move onto bigger places in the next World.
I'm 44 overall and 8 in Asia and pretty happy with that for now

Public World 2086 ends in a few days. What happens then? Do we get a new one to join?

There are a lot more private worlds. Is it better to play in a private world? A lot of them don't seem to be very well used.

General Chat / Getting started - Airport Map?

Hi,

I getting started and I am viewing public world 2042, and I wonder how to see where there are already bases? I don't want to jump in on anyone and would like to start without competition until I know what I am doing.

On the view world screen under the Top 10 Alliances table there's a header - 'Airport Map' but there's nothing there - is that where I should be able to see where the bases are?

Or is there another way of finding out?

I'm using Firefox 7, but had a look in IE6 and I see the broken image thing, I prefer to use FF though.
