I cannot seem to connect, and was just wondering whether this was scheduled maintenance, a problem on the server, or my computer giving me another reason to hurl it out the window... ???

I am having exactly the same problem.
Have tried re-loading my browser, searching with a different browser but cannot connect.

Glad in a way it isn't only me, hoping it's just scheduled maintenance as opposed to the site being 'down'.

The server should be back up now. In future you can always try using http://box3.airlinemogul.com/airlinemogul which is one of or European servers and allows connection to the game when the primary server has issues. A move is still on-going to prevent this downtime in future.

I can switch over the domain to the European server but I would like to make sure that people don't find it slow or laggy. The databases are currently still on a US server so there's quite a jump between the two.

Neither box3 nor the normal server are working for me now, though box3 worked earlier. Box3 was slow, but it worked...

Wasn't the server going to be moved over the the European one eventually anyway? It seems like a problem to be having the data on a different server to the main server, so I think that would be a priority if you were going to switch.
I don't see why there is any reason to switch over to the European server temporarily though. I thought DNS changes usually took a while (a day or so) to process anyway, so I don't think it would work to solve the problem in the short term.

These forums seem kinda slow too. But that might just be me.

Forums are based in Ireland and completely segregated from the game. That means its good for game downtime as these stay up but integration wise its poor.
