So, with this new maintenance formula that is being tested in the Public World, what changes can we expect for AM in the future?

Conventional wisdom in the game right now holds that planes costing more than 200M euros or seating more than 300 passengers aren't worth it because the maintenance is too high, and large jet aircraft should be replaced after a year of usage.

Obviously neither of those are true in the real world. Airlines fly large planes just fine for more than just a year at a time. How will the new maintenance formula affect things? Can I finally take the step up to buying 747s? This is especially important for early 2000s games since IMHO the best long-haul option is the 7672ER (since it fits within the parameters above) and that one is no longer manufactured after the mid-2000s.

As far as I can tell, the new formula will allow for bigger jets. The routes will still be most profitable with 762ER's (or alike), but that has to do with the loadfactor formula.

PS: Try the Airbus 330-200 when the B762ER is out of production ;)
