I'd go for three with some more items on it. The green doesn't seem to fit in with the blue. The tail you designed makes your logo, well, erm, not stand out at all, which is a shame as it's actually quite a nice logo.

If I look at my designs, the best ones are the ones with a white fuselage. Besides, they are really easy to make. This, for instance, would be what I would make out of your livery if it were on a 733:

Takes 5 minutes at best. That said, white fuselages work really well for small airplanes because they don't look too empty. Make a white fuselage on a big airplane and it's bound to look crap. And I'm not the kind of artist who can fill up those spaces.
@AusConnect: You might want to consider painting the doors as well. Apart from that, the AustraliaConnect is not really that visible, it might have to stand out more.

I would only suggest that you have the flags on the tail and on the engines with the same orientation. What I mean is doing \\ and \\ instead of // and \\. I think it would give an even more dynamic look to your planes.

One reasonably easy way to make the liveries is to use a flight simulator (if you have one). There are many tutorials for repainting planes on the internet. It is not that hard once you get the hang of it (you may even be able to cheat a little, by downloading and modifying a livery made by someone else, there are no shortage of liveries on the internet, although you should acknowledge the original creator when you post it).
Make a new layer by yourself and then paste over it. I am not too familiar with Photoshop either.
I'm having trouble. I'm using Photoshop 7, and I am trying to Polygonal Lasso the area where there will be a stripe down the fuselage, and I am trying to make the area I have selected a new layer, so that I can turn down the Opacity of the stripes so that the cracks in the fuselage will be seen underneath. I press ctrl+c then ctrl+v, but it's not making a new layer. What should I do?

Neither work. The whole 'Layer' drop down has gone that grey shade where you can't click on it. I am using a template from Jetabout.

No one comment on my planes. :(OK, I'll comment :) That said, there isn't much I can criticize. The first livery looks good, period. The second one looks kinda pixely, if that's a word, around the wings and it is a little bit too black for my personal liking, but it's still a good livery.

Basically, what you do is you create a new layer that goes over your painting layer, whichever that is, and stick a simple gradient in there using the Gradient Tool, then selecting the preset white to black gradient. You make sure the white is completely see-through (opacity at 0%), then drag the tool top to bottom over your livery. Then just crop out the bits of the gradient you don't want to have in your livery, basically everything that's not the airplane, adjust the opacity of the layer until you think it works, and you have a very, very basic shading.

Well, something that I've been working on for a little while now.. I always kinda thought that the Boeing House Liveries were pretty good, and until I found out that the B747-400 wasn't economically viable ingame I'd planned to buy one or two and run them long range between my hub in El Dorado International Airport, Honolulu International Airport, and Singapore International Airport.
As the introduction livery for the Boeing 747-400ER, Knighthawk Airways would use a modified iteration of the 'Sunrise' Boeing House Livery shown on the Boeing 747-8i, modified in a similar fashion to the Boeing blue house livery with Air Berlin.

I've still got a few little things that I'd like to improve upon here, but for the most part.. done..
i second that, but maybe you could add a winglet design-the winglets look a little blank.Well, the 747-8i has the blended winglets that are the same color as the wings, so I was entirely sure what to do with the 747-400's winglets.. I think I could probably do the same wave design on the winglet (Red on bottom, maybe add the gold bars, with orange running up the winglet to the top, and white on the opposing side)

If you don't mind me asking, what font did you use for the 747-8 in front of the Boeing logo? I'd intended to put "Boeing 747-400" somewhere on mine, probably under "Intercontinental", but I couldn't find anything to use for that..
