Title: Speed up the game?

How about speeding up the game, so one in-game day lasts only 30 minutes, rather than 1 hour? This would make the game more interesting to play. It could also be an option when creating a world.

It just means you have too much free time :P

I like the idea of "express worlds"

The current game design doesn't allow for it, but its not impossible either. We'd have to rebuild part of the day change system to allow for different games running at different speeds. The effect of extra load on the server would have to be looked at, although updating every half hour would place load at a time where the server is probably quiet, which helps.
