I felt like you in the beginning too - don't worry, you'll get there :)

Just have to keep buying planes and launching routes as fast as you can.

It also depends on the competition you're facing out of your hub - seems like there's a lot of big carriers based there.

The key is to go fly as many routes as much as possible!

"there's obviously a reason why they didn't succeed in the real world."

I dunno.  I have now purchased more of a certain plane than was ever produced in the real world.  Were you to put together the DOP for them, they would eclipse both of your DOP's quite easily.

In terms of the advice though, find routes that others are not serving or find a route that someone is and go to their price.  Save up and buy another plane.  Once you're confident in how well you can do with DOP on one plane, look at what is available in the used/lease market.  Leased planes drive up your cost, but if you make money on them, you can reduce your capital needs and create profits and growth.

Don't lease out any plane at the begining. what's the use? you can earn ten times as much flying the ac on routes.

it's strange that you are such a small airline at this stage of the game, when did you start?
Don't give up, find a good strategy and stick to it

enjoy

I guess the good thing about starting late in AM is that u can focus on an airport between 3-5 mil pax and grow from there and grow a presence. Yes, u wont be as big as those at the big airports, but hey, gives ya some great clues for later rounds ;)

I also got a dop of 360k. I started at a small airport (havanna), making it impossible to get a larger DOP.

Iran air (my airline) is going out of tehran mehrabad with a gate value of 150,000 doesnt anything think this should be increased?

anyway, Ive got a DOP of 536,000 with a fleet of 5 aircraft + 1 on order (Fairchild Hiller F-27F)

here is my fleet:
Beech B99 1       DP: €113,541
CASA 202 Halcon 1    DP: €72,636
Convair 640 1     DP: €67,345
Fairchild Hiller F-27F 4   DP1: €140,809      DP2: €141,903  DP3: on order, arriving in 3 hours and I want to put it on the heathrow route     DP4: On order, dont know what route can be profitable
I'm generally sticking to the fairchild Hiller F-27F for now

how can I make my airline more profitable?? I think I should be growing very quickly by now, but problem is that I'm not  :?

simply wait 'til you can afford to BUY bigger airplanes (100+ seats). They'll make more money.

As you can see, your B99 is returning 2,724,984 per day for an investment of 2.9MM while your F27 is returning 3,379,416 for an investment of 9.7MM.  You are better off buying 3 B99's and get a return of 8.1MM for the price of one F27. Buying bigger aircraft too soon will keep you from growing. I got to a DOP of 4MM with only B99's, I ended up with 40 of them before I started getting bigger airplanes. Lease a few B99's, there is plenty on the market for 600k a month, returning you 2.7MM for the investment.

I also have a base at FUK and I did last round as well.  While it was crappy early on, I liked it towards the end because it allowed me to fly to Europe without much competition (which was not the case at TPE).

If I were in your shoes, I'd grab a second base at HND asap (in spite of the fact that this could cause minor headaches for me); from HND, every single minor airport (even those with miniscule pax numbers) in Japan and Korea fetches 400+ on a 100-seat plane... so if you serve most of them, your DOP will shoot up to 10m in no time.  Once you reach 10m, you'll have enough coin to add new bases elsewhere and grow exponentially.  While HND is competitive (how could it not be, as the biggest airport in the region?), people there are pretty civil.

unfortuantly the B99 doesnt have enought range to get me to airports close to me. I am already flying to all the airports close to me so I am forced to buy aircraft with a longer range

can I just also ask, what is the formula to calculate the amount of money the aircraft makes every 24 hours in real life? I've tried doing it, but always doesnt come out as what is in the game (including the expenses) I'm a A level sudent but at the moment I've become quite dumb

Iran,

I just looked at your route structure, you have long one frequency flights to the likes of AMS and FRA and are missing out on all the mid size airports in between. Rent some gates in Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Turkey, Saudi and fly shorter routes. Forget about long EU flights for now. All my first routes where as close to my first base as I could find, this allows you to fly more flights in a 24 hour period per aircraft and giving you a better return

I have 2 Fairchild F27F's on order at the moment, one arriving now, So I'll put that on a couple of routes and see what the outcome will be :D thanks a lot, but have you got the formula?
