Game Data / Union of Burma, plus Kawthuong Airport
« on: February 27, 2012, 09:15:16 am »
I have noticed two basic things that are of concern:

- Burma's national flag has been changed, from:

Old:

To this:

I would like to see it changed because the government is currently in its transition stage.

- when I pull up airports from Asia, the first airport that shows up is Kawthuong, in which it should be moved to the letter K rather than being ahead of the list before letter A because it confuses players into thinking that it is a good airport to begin with, when in reality, it only has a single, 1,800m x 50m runway.

Suggestions / Aircraft Image on Buying Aircraft Pages
« on: February 27, 2012, 08:58:18 am »
I have seen advertisements on buy and sell magazines and websites wherein you can have a first impression of what you'll get when you buy an item, like what you'll see on Amazon and other retail websites nowadays. for example, when you want to buy an XBox, you'll see there an image of the actual XBox, along with its box and features.

I would like to see whatever I see on the Aircraft description page to be seen on the Buying an Aircraft page as well so that players would be reassured of what aircraft they'll be getting (as if they will get it in real life), rather than computer-generated black and white sketches that only show one side of the plane. If possible also, show the frontal, top-side, and engine views of the plane (a.k.a. 3D view) that would allow players to decide if that aircraft is worth buying for, instead of guess what airline they'll be getting (in that case, many aircraft have no corresponding model picture that players can look at and inspect before buying). Not only it will orient players to seeing what their aircraft would look like; it will also allow them to compare and contrast different aircraft according to an image (with all the description included). remember that a picture speaks a thousand words, so I would like to see this happen in the future if you have a chance.

In the process, can you also add other aircraft images related to what AM sells to its players too?

Bugs / [NaB] Wrong Image Showing Up
« on: February 20, 2012, 06:57:07 am »
In my two-plus years playing at Airline Mogul, this is the first bug I will ever report that needs some attention. My airline on Private World 2180, Volcano Airways, apparently shows my old airline logo (image) that I want to replace because apparently, I have cut my ties with one alliance and I have formed my own. I will show you what the images look like:

The current image (it still shows up when I have a replacement for it):

The picture I want the image above to be replaced with (reflecting the new alliance):

Thanks in advance for your help.

General Chat / Compilation of Topics in Just a Few Pages
« on: January 29, 2012, 10:22:50 am »
It is rare for me to start topics on other forums, especially when I talk about my website. But, as I read through lots of questions here and my positive experiences on Airline Mogul, I asked myself what if I can compile many of the comments and answers provided here and put them on my website for reference?

I introduce my answer to many of the questions being asked here:
http://www.anthonynachor.com/airline-mogul.html

I designed that page to be the homepage for my current private world, called Sojourner Dream, but I also designed the pages to be applicable to other players as well. Tell me what you think of the things I wrote, and let me know if you have ideas, comments, suggestions, or additions.

I'm back again just in time for the Holidays, and an announcement to make: I think that having a big world as AiRevoLegacy (ARL) right now is not a smart idea for me since, although it is a private world, not a lot of members joined the world compared to the previous ones where I needed to expand twice to keep up with demand. Plus, the past few months have been busy for me, not having enough time and resources to focus on ARL. So, for this upcoming world, starting after New Year's, I have this proposal, with comparisons to ARL:

- You can have up to 10 total bases, with 2 international bases for you to choose (ARL had 20 total, 5 international)
- Less money that you will have (250,000 euros) for start up than ARL's 1,000,000 euros
- Less aircraft to begin with (2 Boeing 737-500s vs. 4 Airbus A320-200s)
- Two gates allocated to you for start up (vs. 3 in ARL)
- Start year will be later than ARL (1990 vs. 1989), and the end year will also be later (2011)
- (Updated) No password will be given, allowing more airlines to join in (I will provide adequate training guides for new players by request)
- Both civil aircraft and business jets will be available
- Opportunities for brokers to join in are most welcome -- I am looking for around two
- Room for expansion by request when needed
- Full world coverage

And oh, I might keep the number of slots to around 25 or 30, similar to my first two worlds, so that it will be intimate yet competitive. I am accepting reservations starting today, and I will announce the opening of the world at a later date. This time, it will not be a first-come, first-served reservation: it will be through some sort of lottery (if it is allowed), and should your airline be selected, I will keep you posted through this forum. Of course, questions, comments, concerns, and suggestions are always welcome.

Sign up below now and I will keep updating this as often as possible.

General Chat / Invitation to Join a School Bus RP Company
« on: March 26, 2011, 03:46:05 am »
Hi, folks! My name is Anthony, a player and private world owner at Airline Mogul, and I am currently the General Manager for a school bus role-playing (RP) group. I would like to invite you to join Baden: KY, a division of Baden Transportation based in Seymour, Indiana. Founded in 2009, Baden is a school bus RP company that has been reliable and noteworthy in the school bus RP community, and it is currently looking for new drivers to drive the ever-growing number of school routes in a community in Kentucky (community to be determined). With over two years of safe tracking and reliability records, Baden will provide new drivers the appropriate training to drive school buses, as well as provide opportunities for managerial advancement, and opportunities to travel around Kentucky and the rest of the Midwest region. There is also a possibility to expand the company to operate coach buses, as well as transit vehicles.

If you are interested or have any questions (queries), feel free to ask me. Baden: KY's website is to be determined, so stay tuned.

Hey! It's me Anthony, the current owner of PW 1757 (Holiday Flight), one of my most successful private worlds I created on AM, and I would like to announce that as my early birthday gift to my fellow players, I am accepting reservations from today, Saint Patrick's Day, to join my upcoming world, entitled AiRevoLegacy. Strange name, eh? It's a portmanteau of three words: Airline, Revolution, and Legacy, and a friend and I chose that title because we are specifically searching for legacy airlines (cf. Private World 303) who can keep up with the demands of a long-lasting world, as well as for new airlines who would like to start their lives in a fast-paced environment.

It will have more players than my current one, with 80 slots, and the features in the world will include:

- You can have up to 20 total bases, with 5 international bases for you to choose
- More money that you will have (1,000,000 euros) for start up than PW 1757's 800,000 euros
- More jet aircraft to begin with (4 Airbus A320-200s vs. 3 Airbus A319s)
- Three gates allocated to you for start up (vs. 2 in PW 1757)
- Start year will be earlier than my first one (1989 vs. 1997), and the end year will be later (2010)
- Password-enabled so that active airlines can truly participate
- Both civil aircraft and business jets will be available
- Opportunities for brokers to join in are most welcome -- we are looking for around three
- Room for expansion by request when needed
- Full world coverage

Any questions, comments or ideas are welcome, and you can now book your spot below! Targeted start date of this world is May 1st (my current world ends on the third week of April).

Hey guys! It's me, Anthony, and I am happy to tell you that due to the success of my first created Private World (PW 1596), in which it has slots for 30 players, I am looking forward to creating another private world... It will have the same number of players (30) as my current one, but, there will be some differences than my current world, including:

- Less number of hubs you can create (up to 8 domestic and 3 international bases, aside from your chosen base)
- More money that you will have (800,000 euros) for start up
- Less number of aircraft you'll have to deal with (2 aircraft, TBD)
- Less number of gates (2) allocated to you for start up
- Start year will be earlier than my first one (TBD)

The same features, though, would be:

- Both civil aircraft and business jets would be available
- Opportunities for brokers to join in are most welcome
- Room for expansion by request when needed
- No password necessary to join in
- Full world coverage

Any questions, comments, ideas, or reservations are welcome, and I am looking forward to set it up Thanksgiving Week (between November 21st and 27th) or earlier since my current world is ending November 11th, and I hope that I can get more active players to be in my upcoming world!

Bugs / Questionable Message on In-Game Mail
« on: July 25, 2010, 09:24:04 am »
Although I have received this message last week, this really continues to bother me. I'm the owner of PW 1596 (OpenSkies (Free Entry)), and I do not even know how this message ended up in my mailbox:

Message ID: 48
From
Sent   0/0/0
Subject   Request to Join PW#1596

I would like to join
Please reply to AM Forum user Adar Loberant.

That happened before the world actually started, but, I wanted to check both here on the forums and the ID for that name on AM, but it seems like I can't find it. Can someone help me on this matter because it looks like I'm being set up for something not good? Note that the "From" portion is missing, meaning there's no airline indicated for that message. My ID no. by the way, if needed, is 30954.

Hey folks! I'm Anthony (ID no. 30954), and I just started my first private world at AM, entitled OpenSkies (Free Entry). Why free entry? Because it is password-free, allowing you to join in the world without you thinking about any codes! However, the number of slots is very limited, but you get quite a lot of features once you join in. Here are details about the new world:

PW1596: OpenSkies (Free Entry)
- Era: Modern aviation (commercial and business jets), started in 1999
- Years left: 8.5
- End date and time: November 13th, 2010, 00:32
- Maximum players (slots left): 16 (4) [as of 13th August, 11:04 GMT]
- Starting aircraft and quantity: Three (3) Embraer ERJ-145LR aircraft
- Starting cash: 750,000 euros
- Gate allocation: 3 gates
- No password
- Map coverage: Full world
- Visit the world here

Just a few rules to abide by:
1) Enjoy playing in my world, keeping in mind all AM instructions and guidelines.
2) There is no limit on bases (either within the region or foreign); just make sure you can keep up with your profits!
3) If you encounter any problem or issue about anything in the world, let me know via PM and I'll take care of it to the best I can a.s.a.p.

General Chat / Introduce Yourself (a continuation)
« on: September 28, 2009, 08:13:12 pm »
I've seen a similar thread as such here on the Non-AM forum page (with last post there probably made several months back), and I saw a warning wherein it says "the last post has been made over 120 days ago. You might want to start this topic as a new forum topic", and I decided sure, I'll revive this thread for good! This page is made, not only for introductions, per se, but also to get to know more about our fellow AM players who also keep up with this (strangely addictive yet) interesting simulation game.

I'm Anthony (ID# 30954), and I've been playing AM for nearly two weeks now, thanks to a supportive (and can be a little crazy) friend of mine from Singapore who's also an AM Player (wongkw). I just browsed around AM at first on what it could do for me, and as I see my bank balance grow and add more destinations from my hubs, I really got the hook of it ever since. I'm age 21 from Manila (Philippines), now currently living north of San Francisco (Marin County), and I'm pursuing a major in Urban Studies (more info on my blog at www.anthonynachor.com/urbanstudies)

In real life, I volunteer a lot, tutoring students of many levels (middle school, high school, and college) in both San Francisco and Marin County, all while taking classes at City College of San Francisco. I also am planning to move subsequently to San Francisco State University (supposedly UC Berkeley, but the tuition is beyond my family's reach), wherein I will be pursuing my chosen major, and I love traveling around both the Bay Area and the world. Originally living in the Philippines until 18 years old, I have already traveled outside of my country, including:

- Hong Kong (twice, once on PR, the other on CX, ridden on a B747-400, A330-300, and B777-300)
- Bangkok (on AF, ridden an A340-300)
- Tokyo (on NW, ridden on a B747-400)
- San Francisco (where I an now, on PR, ridden on a B747-400)
- Boston (on UA from SFO, ridden on a B757-200)

Aircraft I like (current): B747-400s, B747-400ERs, B777-200ERs, B777-300ERs, B737-800s, B737-900s, the A320 family (especially the A320s and A321s), A330-200s, A330-300s, A340-300s, A340-500s, A340-600s, A380-800s

Aircraft I like (future): Boeing 787

Aircraft I loathe (current): B727s, B757-200s, B737-500s, B737-600s, DC10s, MD80s

Aircraft I loathe (future): none

Favorite airlines: SQ, CX, AF, BA, JL, PR, SA, AI, LH, TG

Airlines I might not try flying on: JS, UM, CU

Airlines on AM: Volcano Airways (W850) and Asian Spirit (Private W503)

Aircraft I utilize the most on AM: VardaxServ Aero Hotters, Pilatus PC-12s, select Bombardier models (Challenger 604, Global Express, Learjet 604), Cessnas

Aircraft I want to use on AM in the future: A320 family, B747-400, B777-300, A330-200, A330-300, A340-300, A340-500

Currently: I'm on BART heading to a club meeting

My most favorite airports: NRT, SIN, HKG, and BKK

General Chat / New Startup Airline Looking for Alliance Support
« on: September 20, 2009, 07:24:30 am »
Airline Name: Volcano Airways (VAC)
DOC: 1,543,323
Airline Value: 53,781,809
Airline Mogul ID number: 30954
Hub: MNL     Focus City: DVO

I have a question regarding joining an alliance, wherein my airline has started up very quickly with new destinations around Southeast and East Asia, plus Australia, and it has been expanding very quickly as well by purchasing used aircraft and are being deployed to 80 destinations, 37 of which are within the Philippines (my home base). My aircraft inventory is pretty diverse, with a following breakdown of existing aircraft (with number of orders):

VardaxServ-Aero Hotter: 15 (0 orders)
Cessna 208A: 3 (0 orders)
Pilatus PC-12: 2 (2 orders)
Antonov An-38-100: 2 (0 orders)
Canadair CL-215T: 2 (0 orders)
Canadair CL-415: 2 (0 orders)
CASA C-212-300P: 1 (0 orders)
CASA C212-300: 1 (0 orders)
Piper PA-42-1000: 1 (0 orders)

Total: 29 aircraft (2 orders)

Now, I'm expanding even further into more Southeast, Eastern, and Southern Asian destinations by purchasing more aircraft and opening more destinations possible from my main base in Manila and my focus city of Davao. And now, I'm thinking of joining an alliance for many reasons, the most important being:

- I want to allow my airline to grow even further by serving destinations in Europe, Africa, Australia, and the Americas, with aircraft that are fuel efficient while carrying comfort and high quality of service.
- I want my airline to be a competitive one by being environmentally friendly (using small aircraft and those that waste little fuel) while bringing people to many destinations, both familiar and exotic.
- I would like to form "codeshares" between my airline and other airlines so that they could fly to MNL from their home base with ease and comfort, and it will allow, therefore, seemless connections to more destinations.

Even though my airline value is pretty high now, I'd like to see it flourish quite more, with more passengers and routes, that is, and I believe by joining a great alliance would actually help my airline grow even further by serving more destinations and gaining profit by codesharing and allowing airlines to fly to my base. Would anyone like to help me venture on alliances, and if you may want to suggest some great alliances to join in, please let me know? I would also like to know what the benefits are of joining an alliance, plus the monthly contributions I need to pay, and the requirements you will need from me to join your alliance. I'm currently looking at SkyTeam, Open Skies, and STARlite, and I'm thinking which one of those (or you could propose to me one) that I will join. I'm serious in looking into joining an alliance, it's just that I'm wondering which among them would give me great benefits (such as aircraft allocations or income) while I conserve the environment by using small aircraft and add more flights to my record.
