Hi Matias, at least you're still here!
Yes I looked at that one when I was looking at the list.
I might join later, I fancy Korea for a change, if Seoul Incheon isn't busy :)

Is there any good PW to join, or are any new ones starting anytime soon?

It seems kinda dead to what it was when I last played a few years back.

Hi,

I've logged in again after a couple of years away and looked over the forums to see what's going on.

I wonder how active Airline Mogul is these days? There doesn't seem to be many recent forum posts.

Also I wonder are any of the big players making a decent Private World like there was before?

Bad luck.

I never buy off the market, as it's full of people trying to trap newbies into buying useless old aircraft at over-inflated prices, when they really should scrap them.

If you base at a reasonably large airport with good routes, you can soon make enough to buy from new. OK you have to wait a bit, but AM is in part a waiting game, especially in the early stages.

Think like a real airline - start off small and keep it affordable.

Think twice about going for those widebody jets before you really need them and then plan their routes carefully- you now know about the maintanance charges :)

Established brokers are a good way to buy, you'll get a discount but might have to wait a bit longer.

I replace my aircraft at about 7 years old, and then I replace my mouse as I've worn it out with all the clicking :)

Have fun and enjoy watching your airline grow :)

Hi Matias, nice to see you again, I remember you from the last PW I played :)

I'll have to experiment and see what's best, but I'm inclined to just use one A/C with mulitple freqs - I don't think AM can realistically model the same airline using multiple A/C on the same route without thinking it's competition.

My fingers will get tired enough when it comes time to replace A/C, without having to constntly adjust fares in competition with myself  :P

Hi,

Seagull Air (SGL) operating out of KUL, emulating MH scedules reasonably closley.

I never been in a realistic type AM World before and I like the sound of it.

Question though - if I schedule more than one aircraft on the same route, I'm effectively going into competition with myself and won't be able to achieve high load factors while maintaining a good price will I?

For example, MH will operate a few different A/C on a domestic or nearby regional route and be sure of filling them up, but that isn't possible in AM is it? (Unless I'm missing something.)

So in this AM world, is it better to schedule one A/C to one destination with multiple freqs or use mulitple A/C on the same route?

Game Strategy / Re: AM tutorial video

Nice video.

To be honest I found AM quite intuitive when starting out. With quick references to the Wiki, I picked it up quite quickly.
By reading the old forum posts I am able to learn strategy and tactics.

Maybe others will find your videos helpful though, when starting out, so continue if you enjoy making them :)

OK, I see, thanks Mathias.

I got some 5 yo A320's that ain't selling at min price - might as well scrap them.

Wow  - your maint 1.5 bill  :o - I'm worried at 21 mil  :D

How on earth are you going to replace them?

I've spend all evenings this week replacing A/C and not finished yet - hotswap would be kinda useful :)

Ah OK, sorry I missed the explanation above.

Well it looks pretty good, nice work - can't wait for HS to be activated, if that's what I think it is  :D

It's not sorting by profit properly - Firefox 10.0.2

Pic 1 is sorted by profit ascending - it's put the 100K+ ones first...

Pic 2 is sorted by profit descending - its put the 100K+ ones at the bottom.
