Title: What is Your DOC?
Post by: blue25 on July 11, 2011, 09:12:46 pm
For those of you that remember the post I made a few years ago on "What is Your DOP?", I am recreating it. This time, it is focusing on your DOC. Just post below what world you are in and your DOC. If you want to make it easier on yourself, you can also post a link to your airline.

I will start:

Alto Airlines - ID:2167 (http://www.airlinemogul.com/airlinemogul/show_airline.php?id=2167&wid=2006)
DOC: €1,289,508

Not a lot. It usually takes me around 15 seconds to set up a route. I'm not one of those people who hang around for hours waiting for the $ to fill up. Maybe 30 minutes a day, give or take 15 mins.

I am replacing them with ATRs, but then will replace those with 737s once I begin my next hub. The small planes don't make too much, but are still profitable nonetheless

All it takes is 350,000 per aircraft and 600 planes. It means a route to every possible airport <1500NM (even 0 PAX) as well as every reachable airport over 5 million PAX from all of your hubs. You need to move a lot of passengers. It's a lot of work to build, but it will get you over 200,000,000 and more if you have good hub cities. My best DOC so far has been a little over 250,000,000. There is one airline out there in one of the public worlds that's doing about 350,000,000.

Watch out for the maintenance costs, they can kill you (I've been over 2 billion a month).

If only it were real money....

No way!?! How?

Just start an airline in NA, max out the top 10 hubs there, fly with small aircraft like the Bombardier CRJ701, and replace them once they get like 7 years old. I had over 2900 routes there, so it's not too difficult. I just takes a lot of time :)

DOC of € 20,821,918 out of London Gatwick. All domestic routes and major European routes are multi frequency.

And I'm not using all of my ERJ-175's, 145's and 135's. I expect the DOC to end up around 25-30 million when I'm done with all my planes. My daily maintenance expenses are at 6,067,756.

That's simply amazing to a newbie like me.

How on Earth do you get such a big and profitable airline? How long did it take you Matias? Do you have much competition? I see it in a Private World.

I joined the Public World that just ended quite late and managed to get DOC up to 3 mill.

Now I'm waiting for a new Public World to start.

Could you explain to me why you're flying multiple frequencies to several airports? I know it makes you stronger in competing with other airlines, but it cuts your income per airplane in half (+/-).

I want to make it a tad more realistic. E.g., I fly three times daily to Jersey in the English Channel, and three times to Paris too.

DOC: € 90,330,408

Trying to increase it by getting rid of my A300's and Boeing 727's now the Boeing 737-200 Adv. HGW is active.
The SE 210 Caravelle 12 was out on lease but is now for sale.
So I'm planning to only operate the 732 and the Dassault Mercure.
Perhaps, some of the A300's may be kept active to operate on the high competitive routes.

That's not too difficult, if you have enough time, a world without too much limitation / competition and...enough stamina (that's very important I think), getting a figure like Hal (360M DOC, 451B in total value) is not something impossible. I did my figure in 60 days during my last summer break.

At the extreme cases, I've seen a guru based in USA with over 10K of lines and over a billion of DOC... :o

Thats partly why we have the three prize categories for the scenario world. Give people different ways to win and not always top value.

I have a higher bank balance than that, but not a very high DOC (i didnt play for like the last....6 months?) I still ended first! LOL :D

I effectively dominated USA...LOL xD

It was in PW#1936. AiRevoLegacy. I could have done better but then I gave up after I had to start replacing soo many aircrafts a day.... the positive side? I was still making cash! ( i mass closed a few hundred routes, resulting in a DOC of about 100,000,000 less, but...)
