Bradley International Airport Celebrates JetBlue’s Inaugural Service

HARTFORD, CT (July 16, 1995) – Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele celebrated ValueJet's inaugural flights from Bradley International Airport at an event today. “It is my pleasure to welcome ValueJet to Connecticut: we welcome them to our business community and to the Bradley International Airport family,” said Fedele. “Bradley International is New England’s second-largest airport and the premier airport for Connecticut, having ValueJet as a carrier is a terrific travel opportunity for all our New England passengers.”

ValueJet is launching daily nonstop service from Bradley International [BDL/KBDL] to Boston - General Edward Lawrence Logan International [BOS/KBOS], Charlotte/Douglas International [CLT/KCLT], Chicago O'Hare International [ORD/KORD], Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta International [ATL/KATL], New York La Guardia [LGA/KLGA], Newark Liberty International [EWR/KEWR], Philadelphia International [PHL/KPHL], and Ronald Reagan Washington National [DCA/KDCA].

All flights from Hartford will offer award-winning service featuring convenient schedules, assigned seating, a first-checked bag free, complimentary and unlimited name brand snacks and drinks, comfy leather seats, and more legroom than any other carrier in coach.

“We are very excited to add this long-requested service to Connecticut today,” said Eric Melanson, COO of ValueJet. “With the introduction of our award-winning service from Hartford complete with assigned seating, the most legroom in coach, and a convenient schedule, we know ValueJet will be a hit in Hartford.”

"We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with our ValueJet partners,” said Connecticut Transportation Commissioner Jeffrey Parker. “Anytime we can expand our offerings to travelers, everyone profits, and so does Connecticut's economy. ValueJet is to be commended for investing in Bradley and the people we serve."

Conveniently located within 90 minutes of both Boston & New York City, Bradley International Airport is the second largest airport in New England(behind Boston-Logan International) and serves an extensive geographic area, as its customer base covers the entire Northeast including Western Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey. ValueJet is proud to serve a secondary market such as Bradley International and looks forward to future expansion and growth at Bradley.
